the latest and greatest
Hello loved ones! Here we are in 2024. I’ve spent years with 3 tumors being at a stable size! Incredible stuff.
After taking a yearish unemployed and on Medi-Cal I resumed working in late 2023 and am now enjoying the expensive but very good Covered California insurance. With that coverage I was able to get back to getting a scan and having my “regular” check ins with Dr. Finn. A scan in March, unfortunately, showed that one of the Original Three had grown (Timohthy, for those who remember their names) and at least 5 new pals.
Since there is only one problem child we’re pursuing an ablation treatment which I should be getting late June or early July. It’s an outpatient procedure with minimal risks, I should spend about a week laying around on the couch to recover and then be back at it! The interventional radiologist who will do the procedure thinks that I should go back to get the rest of the tumors melted as well, but we’re still discussing things.
I’m doing pretty a-ok with the news overall and am grateful that my mom will be able to come out to stay with me for a bit for the procedure. My current roommate, Liz, is also likely to step up to the plate big time and I’m lucky to have a friend so ready to help out!
To keep things simpler on us I plan on using the site again to post updates for those of you who’d like to follow along, so stay tuned.
Much love to you all!
